Enterprise Cloud Migration

Oracle to Multi-Cloud on AWS

An AI-driven modernisation of a legacy on-premises Oracle estate — migrated to Oracle multi-cloud on AWS, with a purpose-built AI tool extracting decades of embedded PL/SQL business logic into independent microservices.

Enterprise Cloud Migration AI-Assisted Re-architecture Oracle on AWS
The Challenge

Where it started

The client ran a business-critical on-premises Oracle database that had accumulated over a decade of embedded business logic inside PL/SQL packages, procedures, and triggers. That logic was tightly coupled to the database, poorly documented, and effectively unreadable without deep institutional knowledge — making cloud migration or any kind of modernisation high-risk. A manual rewrite was estimated to take years and risked silently breaking business rules nobody had fully documented.

The Solution

What we built

Algorex designed an AI-driven modernisation pipeline that migrated the database and made the hidden business logic visible, testable, and portable for the first time.

Oracle on AWS migration

Moved the database to Oracle multi-cloud on AWS, preserving full Oracle compatibility while gaining managed operations, elasticity, and disaster recovery.

AI-based PL/SQL extraction engine

A custom-built tool that parses stored procedures, functions, and triggers to identify and document embedded business logic automatically.

Dependency mapping

Automatic mapping of relationships between procedures, tables, and triggers that had never been formally documented.

Microservice scaffolding generation

Extracted logic used to auto-generate service boundaries and scaffolding, turning monolithic procedures into testable, deployable microservices.

Regression test generation

Automatically generated tests to verify migrated logic behaves identically to the original stored procedures.

Multi-cloud architecture

Designed for resilience and flexibility rather than single-vendor lock-in.

The Outcome

Where it landed

Business logic finally documented Decades of undocumented PL/SQL logic mapped and explained for the first time.
De-risked migration AI-generated scaffolding meant engineers reviewed and refined, rather than reverse-engineered from scratch.
Modern, testable architecture Monolithic stored procedures replaced with independently deployable microservices.
